iPad: How do I change my Lock CodeThe lock code (called "passcode") needs to be entered to unlock and use the iPad.
The passcode must be between 4 and 8 digits long.
Follow these steps to change your passcode:
- Unlock your iPad :-)
- Press the Home button to get out of your current app.
- Find and tap the "Settings" icon. (swipe sideways to get to the second page of apps where the Settings app is located)
- Tap the "General" option.
- Scroll down and tap the "Passcode Lock" option.
- For protection, it will prompt you for the current passcode: enter it.
- Tap the "Change Passcode" option.
- It will again prompt you for the current (old) passcode: enter it.
- It will prompt you for your new passcode: enter it CAREFULLY and then tap Next
- It will prompt you to re-enter your new passcode: enter it CAREFULLY and then tap Done
- Tap the "General" option near the top to leave this area.
- Press the Home button to get out of the Settings app.
Do NOT forget your new passcode!
