iPad: How do I disable Siri (Voice)

Siri is Apple's voice assistant which is available on iPads and iPhones. If you tap-and-hold the iPad Home button, Siri will ask you how it can help.

If you wish to disable Siri, perform the following steps:

  1. Unlock your iPad.
  2. Press the Home button to get out of your current app.
  3. Find and tap the "Settings" icon. (swipe sideways to get to the second page of apps where the Settings app is located)
  4. Tap the "General" option.
  5. Tap the "Siri" option.
  6. Toggle Siri by tapping the indicator beside the word "Siri".
  7. Tap "Disable" in the pop-up confirmation box.
  8. Tap the "General" option near the top to leave this area.
  9. Press the Home button to get out of the Settings app.

You can always re-enable Siri by performing the same steps and turning it On.
