The iPresent app will let you know when new content is available by displaying a small, red dot beside the "<" (Menu) button in the top-right corner of the iPresent screen.
If you are not currently running the iPresent app, you may see a red "1" in the corner of the iPresent icon on your iPad page of icons. This also indicates that updated content is available.
To download new or updated content:
- You need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network
- Go into the iPresent app.
- If iPresent starts at the "Castle iPad Program" box and if there is an update waiting, then it will provide you with two buttons. One button will perform the update now and the other will skip the update and let you use iPresent as-is (which is handy if you are just going into a presentation). Press the update button to start downloading the update.
- However, if iPresent starts at one of the other iPresent menus or documents (not at the "Castle iPad Program" box), then tap the "<" Menu button in the top-right corner of iPresent. (If there is no Menu button then you are currently viewing a document: just click the Back button or double-tap with two fingers to exit the current document.)
- Tap the "Download update" option in the Menu to start downloading the update.
The download could be quick or it might take up to an hour or so, depending upon the size of the new or updated items (e.g. any new videos).
Once the update is complete, tap the big "Castle iPad Program" box to see the content.
Leave the iPad "on" while it downloads. If you close the cover or turn off the screen, then the download will be forced to terminate after 20 more minutes of background processing. If you need to turn it off, then the next time you turn on your iPad it will resume downloading where it left off, but it is best to leave the iPad on during the entire download (if you can).
